You can purchase an OEM knock sensor from EBAY for between $40 and $60 dollars. Thats what I did and mine works perfectly.

On my '96 i30t with a VQ30DE, the knock sensor was right under the intake, i started taking it off, but it's too much work for 1 small part. I ended up using a u-joint type ratchet adapter with an extension to get the part off and back on - but you might need to find some1 with small enough hands to get the part out and back in place.
