I think they are blown and might want to upgrade them even if they arent because at some songs it would go POP POP. I dunno sounds nasty but its pretty clear at times but I might want to go with Infinity Kappas. Right now I got a pioneer premier head unit and the bose harness with it connected to the bose speakers. Would it be a good idea to just go with the Pioneer head unit and get 2 pairs of the Infinity 6.5 Kappas for the front and the back and leave the amp or should I get the amp replacted to a 4 channel so i could go highs. I really don't want subs/bass in my car. I just want loudness/krispy music.

i personally would replace everything. use all aftermarket stuff and rerun wires for best sound quailty. I love the infinity kappa series, i've used them in all my vehicles and never had one problem with them. those things would scream and sounded great.

YES!!!! Change it all. The speakers don't give you the fullness youneed in your music. I'm gettin ready to put everything in my Z. I would go with the sub though. You don't have to shake the block, just need it for the bottom end of your music.

what if i just get the 6.5 speakers for front and back and then get a 4 channel amp? would that be a good idea just for HIGHS?

as a former installer and salesman of such stuff - we used to say that bose was missing an "L". The stuff was always overrated...right up there with monsoon systems and all the others. The biggest issue with it was ohm'age and incongruity with standard speakers.

If you don't mind replacing everything - you can definitely get more definition and range out of a good set of replacement speakers and a standard amp. The Kappas are great and real dynamic...personally I always tended towards boston Acoustics for their flat response. Pioneer speakers seem to match to their head units well and make some pretty good sound for the cost also. You are halfway there with the head unit...just get a good amp and rock that vehicle the right way if sound is your thing.

Now - a sub isn't just for bass...it allows you to take the bass out of the speakers you want producing the highs...a good bass install shouldn't have the subwoofer overpowering the speakers...everything should be balanced and should actually boost clarity and accuracy of the highs and mids' you are looking for- I would recommend a JL 5 channel amp or a alpine on a budget - stay away from pioneer amps (their head units have always been decent) we had a lot of fried pio's. now that the lowest frequencies are out of those 6.5's and dedicated to a sub, they can really sing in the range that they are good. You could also do a 4 ch for the front separates and rear coax's and a d class 1ch for a sub which would be inexpensive. Also; dynamat the heck out of that sub enclosure - the metal construction resonates like crazy and will sound so much better...

From Bose to Eclipse 2210p head unit with built in Tom Tom nav. 10 in Kicker sub and kicker 400 watt mono block amp. Pioneer 6.5 3 ways in front, in the rear. 1" Memphis soft dome tweeters in rear. Will upgrade to an Alpine 4 channel for 6.5's. Need to get rid of speed controled Bose amp. It BLOWS! By the way. The Kicker sub amp is under the pass seat. The Alpine will go under the drivers seat.

+1. I had six kappa 3-ways (different sizes) in my last truck with a sub + dual amp setup and it sounded awesome.

Though I would look at what else is out there, I've heard good things about Kicker.

I agree, I had Kappa's all over in my Acura TL, they were awesome. I would give those a shot on the Z. Small space big sound. Worth the money.
