I've been looking for a 94-95 Q45 with active suspension. I've found a 94 in very good condition, however, it has a bad motor. I have a 94 Base Q with TCS and a well maintained motor. What are the issues related to making the engine swap. Must some of the hardware from the active motor be transferred to the non active motor? If someone could give me some indication if this is a cost effective method to acquire an active Q. car can be purchased for around a thousand dollars.

My guess was going to be the p/s pump and crank pulley... Just keep in mind that the active suspension is also likely trashed... It's rare these days to see owners seek out an active rather than either avoiding them or converting them to a standard suspension.

Whatever works for you though - they're pretty sweet when working as new from what I understand!

before i blew the motor my active was working around 75% and i love it i couldent imagine driving a Q without it!! and with 19" 275's on it the thing it literally turns on a dime (evasive manuvers from insane drivers in maryland)

Im looking for an active because, I've owned one and compared to the base Q there is a big difference in handling. Besides texas oil and I have a good relationship; as long as I have some money he will supply me all the parts I need to keep the active "ACTIVE".

The TCS requires a different harness and such. The rear diff is different and so on. If one car does not have the TCS, then it will be an issue as well. As long as you keep the TCS stuff with the TCS car, you should be fine.

I have seen a couple "a" models running around Montgomery. One I saw last Friday, looked like it was slammed in the front. There must have been 1" of tire up in the fenderwell.
