I have a manual 96 i30 and I'm failry certain the transmission is begging (or whining) for a transmission oil change. The manual tells how to do it for an automatic. Is there any place that tells how to do it for a manual? Or any advice anyone can offer? Changing regular engine oil is no problem, just never done the transmission oil. It is strarting to sound bad when I engage the engine (like some metalic scraping).....

Not good, sounds like the clutch may be on the way out too. i do not know much about the i30, I have an older ZX that has a 5 speed. It gave out at 110k and I had to rebuild it and drop in a new clutch.

How many miles on it? I would suggest putting Redline manual transmission fluid, I put that into mine and it really lubed up the works.
