Ok I decided to investigate this subject and found these results. I don't know about the instrument cluster yet, but seeing as how Jemdawg screwed his up, it might not be a good idea to investigate that just quite yet, so Jem if you have any pics of when you had yours disassembled, post them up here so I can see and compare. If not, can you verify if the LED's on the board looked like the ones below. Also I have figured out why only the lock on the lock/unlock button illuminates. See picture below.

Kind of blury, but the unlock side has the white part to swivel on it. The board has 6 surface mount LED's which if you have experience soldering those lil suckers is an easy replacement of a different color. I have been looking for a direct replacement LED but nobody seems to make one to the same specifications. At my work, we have some, but they only come in white, the color ones are a lil smaller, but more than likely would still work with a lil extra work. Although I could get the white ones and dye them to the desired color. I tried looking at the bulbs in the climate control, and those are regular fillament bulbs that you can pop out and replace, although I believe the orange color is a clear film on the panel itself as the bulbs are clear.

I will research this more, and possibly order the LED's to replace them. I am still curious and haven't looked at the other side yet, but think I can make all the window buttons light up.

TIMEOUT BEFORE ANYONE TRIES THIS! I went to put my switches back in, and so far I have tried everything I can think of, but my driver side window now doesn't work! If anyone has any suggestions, they are more than welcome HAHA I think I screwed myself! Also seems weird as the driver window switch is completely different than the others, see att. pic above.

Sorry to hear about your window switch... On a positive note, I'm glad to see Nissan finally wisened up and began using LEDs instead of those blasted mini incandescent bulbs... the drivers' side window switch light burned out after 10,000 miles in my Frontier.

I would venture to guess that the reason the driver's window switch is different from the rest is because of the auto up/down feature. This requires four contact positions (auto up, standard up, standard down, and auto down) instead of the usual two to accomplish.

Those are the same ones, they're easy to switch out, but hard to get to. Trying to get the needles off seems nearly impossible, which is also how my gauges failed to operate properly. So far this LED situation is providing much more difficulty and stress to even worry about the colors matching in my car for the time being. Our best bet is to either wait it out until somebody with good experience succeeds and shares his story or until we can get our hands on some spare parts to fiddle with.

lol this is easy to do, but I am scratching my head on how the heck only the LH driver is not working. In the Repair manual there are only two options, check for contiuity or replace the part! I am going down to check that RIGHT now.

Have you tried taking the negative terminal off of the battery to reset the electronics systems in the car?

Not besides your tripometer and your clock. Everything else should be fine.

Yeah, there's no harm in doing it, your car's electronics are made to react to conditions like that incase your battery dies. I usually disconnect it when I'm dealing with wiring in the car, to prevent blowing any fuses, I've never had a problem re-connecting it.
