Hey guys i wanted to know how i can change injector #7 without removing the intake manifold. I tried to change it with it off partially but it was too tight of a space to remove the injector. Need to do this by saturday. Thanks

I changed injector #7 about a month ago without taking off the plenum. The biggest problem was one of the two screws holding the cast cover over the injector. The screw was essentially siezed tight.
The problem is how to get a phllips head screw driver straight on top of it to apply pressure when there is that metal hose on top.
My solution was to take a phillips drive bit and attatch it to a good sized screwdriver with a small hose clamp. The bit was offset enought from the center of the screwdriver so I could bear down straight on top of the screw.
I should have taken a picture of the tool.. if my description isn't good enough, I can recreate it pretty easily.

Jed, did you not have to loosen the plenum at least? Seems you'd need the extra clearance gained by removing the 16 bolts holding it down. If you do that though, you'll need to replace the 8 rubber donuts.

I didn't touch any of the plenum bolts for this job :-)
Getting the injector out was ugly, but it was garbage anyways.I unbolted the bracket holding the black metal tubes running over the injector. I rememebr I used something to hold the tube up/backwhile working on the injector. It has enough "give".[oxs - be sure you've bled the fuel system pressure, too!]
I remember some added care was needed to be sure I slippedthe injector in nicely... and I did use unscented petroleum jellyto lubricate the way... but no big problem.
Just to be sure we are all talking about the same thing, #7 is the driver side injector nearest the firewall on my '94.
