I've sifted through the factory service manual for my 92 Q over and over, and for the life of me I cant figure out how to remove the leaking high pressure hose, or which darn hose it actually is. Is it the one that connects with a screw at the very bottom? Does it go from there directly to the fluid reservoir?

Thanks,-Jesda

Look at the drawings in the HICAS section for all the high pressure hoses..............the returns to the reservoir and from the res to the pump are relatively low pressure if they were not the 1000 psi would empty the system in moments!

Your best bet is to buy a few cans of brake parts cleaner. Clean everything up as much as possible, and then with the car running, turn the wheels over to the stop and hold them there for a few seconds. If the leak is on the high pressure side, you'll find it.

From what I can tell there are two high pressure lines that are most likely to leak (they're the only rubber ones. One comes from the pump down to a block-type thing and bolts into this peice with a 21 or 22MM Bolt. The other hose is actually on the other end of this line and is attached with a flat bracket to the cross member that holds the tension rod on... All of the other lines are all metal, and unless they're really stressed (bent) they should be fine.

Well I give up. I hate anything messy. And even though I have a solid surface and jack stands, I'm scared ****less to get under there. I dont wanna be Darwinized out of existence.

I'll have the dealer do this one, and order the part myself from Scottsdale (Scottsdale $158, dealer $205, another dealer $255). There's still plenty of fluid in the system. In fact, when I first noticed the noise I drove 20 miles and came home. So I'll keep a couple bottles of fluid with me and take the Q to the dealer.

Thanks,-Jesda
