I want to make this change but it appears I have to take the headlight pods out. Has anyone gone through this process? How do I access the headlights without removing panels? Must be a simple way I'm just not seeing? Gerry

Not sure about the Murano but on the Altima and G you can get to the back of the headlights through the tire well.

No other way. You have to pretty much take off the entire front including the bumper.

Another option would be to go on ebay and look for headlights for your MO that have a color range of 8500K. That will give you the HID look with a much lower cost. If it has the projectors already, no one will know you don't actually have an HID kit.

Otherwise, while you can access the bulbs from the wheel well, you will need to pluck the assembly out to put everything in. Removing the assembly is a real pain in the a**. You have to remove the grill, and the wheel well insert, and supposedly the bumper for the passenger side. After pulling out everything I can tell you for sure there isn't a simple way that your missing. It's a dumb a** design.

I'm pretty sure it's a 9007 h11 bulb. Please don't quote me on that as I do have the hid, and as such don't know what the halogen bulb type is. I would suggest that you pluck one out to check it to be certain, but it would be cheaper and easier to just get a higher temp 9007 halogen. The standard bulb has a temp range of only 3-4000K. The "high end" bulbs you can get at Autozone are 5900-6000K. Those one's would be the silverstars from Sylvania. They're nice. Not thrilling, but nice. On Ebay though you can usually find from japan halogen bulbs that are in the 8-9000K range that are still a 55/65 wattage which, at least here in Michigan, is the legal max.

Set up some pics when you have things finished.
