Hi all, first time poster.I'm setting up to do a '94 J30 front disc brake job.First time messing with a superior machine like this but I've done numerous brake jobs before. While fishing around my ALLDATA DIY account for the J30,I notice it's a little lean on specifics. They mention a built in drum shoe set in the rotor for the parking brakes,I suppose similar to the setup in the old Volvo 240 series.Where I get lost is,is it front AND rear rotors that have this?Or is it just the rear rotors that contain the parking brake, like most cars have?I'm debating putting on new rotors, the old ones are pretty smooth,no grooves, but I'm not sure if they are glazed.Wondered if I could get away with just sanding a bit.Pep boys lists rotors @ $91 and then $41 for the universals that I usually find pretty good.Any recommendations?I have many questions, but I'll ask a little at a time. Thanks!:icesangel

Parking brake should only be on the rear. I think the rotor comes off without having to mess with the ebrake. You could probably get factory rotors for $91, or is that for a pair?

I'll say $91 PER unit. The gal at Pep Boys was trying to steer me away from the universals saying "sometimes the holes don't line up"! Gimmie a break....OK.so then I can just remove the two caliper carrier bolts and that rotor's free then. Also, there's TWO pistons in the front calipers in this ABS equipped car.Can I push in one piston at a time or must they be pushed in as a pair?Hey,thanks for helping the "new guy"!:pface

Push the pistons back as a pair. Remember to not let the caliper hang by the hose, prop it up on something.Yes the car has ABS.

Poop Boys and Infiniti just don't go together.

Might as well use a pie pan to repair the fuselage on a 747.

Just look to the great vendors to the left on this site for OEM quality at JC Whitney prices. Joe is the man!

Go OEM with Joe from http://www.everythinginfiniti.com and you won't be sorry on price or performance.

I already did!:ylsuper I sincerely doubt my local dealer can come even close to those prices.Rotors $81 each,PepBoys wanted $91 for fake non OEM!Pads, the real deal:$56.Once again Pep Boys quoted $52 for ceramics?I look forward to seeing what Joe sends along.......So,anyone know the torque specs for the caliper carrier and caliper mounting bolts?ALLDATA shows a pretty wide range numberwise,Was'nt sure if there are specific numbers I need to know and if I need Loctite or silicone grease for the slider pins.Inform me.......

Hang the calipers from a wire so the brake line doesn't get stressed. Use the one of the old brake pads across the pistons and squeeze them back with a large pliers. Pretty straight forward job.

OEM is excellent quality.
