I am a new used 07 Versa hatchback owner. I call "her" Little Blue.

The dealership told me I had 15,000 miles on the front brake pads left.

I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I drive 9 miles to work (in another town), and it takes me 35-40 minutes, I cross 3 mountain ridges and make 176 curves ONE WAY, (I've counted them).

My husband wants to just put new brake pads on the front to be "safe" and moniter the wear.

But I didn't get any manuels with my car. I have downloaded each the general and service manuels into my computer from the Nissan Versa downloads offered by this site (thank you).

But he is wanting some instruction. He has worked on cars for years, and can fix anything in this world that is broken.

Is there some kind of diagram manual, or are there sensors he should know about?

Thanks for all you help in reading the other threads. I have learned alot of my Versa and have been able to talk to the dealership with some intelligence because of it.

Looks like the procedure to change the front brake pads is addressed on page BR-25 of the service manual. It appears to be very straight forward. If your husband has done brake pads on other vehicles before, then I am sure that he will have no problem on the V. Welcome and Happy Motoring!

You can find the service manual here http://www.nissanversa.org/generalfaq.shtml - just click the "factory service manual" and download. I don't know why, but the service manual is tucked off in the FAQs and not with the other manual downloads.

This is the manual that the techs at your dealership work with, it's kinda like a Haynes manual, but with out any helpful troubleshooting sections.

Thanks so much for the info. I did download it, and burned it to a cd. Hubby has been able to read it on his computer. He reads manuals like I read novels.

Glad to be of help. And don't mind CodeRed, I think he was trying to be funny. Inflection is so hard to read on-line, but generally he's a pretty good guy.
