I've just bought a sport 2010 M45 ... I didn't like the sport shocks, so I'm planning to change them to non-sport ...

The thing is that I looked into the OEM, they are expensive, but I'm confused with the many parts of the suspension ... there is the shock absorber, the strut, the spring, the stabilizer bar and the crossmember... looking at M45 parts manual, all of these parts are different in sport than in non-sport

My question is, do I need to change all of these parts to have a "more comfortable ride" ?

If I just want to get the non-sport shocks and springs, whether OEM or KYB, will they fit on my car ? .... in the websites, they keep saying "does not fit on sport models"...

Looking forward to your help

Suspension parts are compatible with non-sport and sport models.. I am also pretty certain that the seats are harder (sportier) on the sport model as well. Maybe you can find a non-sport donor and switch all your sport parts. Almost all the people on the forums want to switch to sport instead of the other way. =)

I've owned both cars & (in my opinion) there is not that much of a difference in ride softness to warrant spending money on the non-sport shocks.

But I noticed many people saying that non-sport KYBs are soft ..

Not sure of that, not even sure if they fit on my car

I think the wheel/tire combo might also make a big difference. The low profile setup on the 19's could be more rough compared to the regular 18's.

I agree. The normal M is not a "comfortable" ride (to the degree of Mercedes, Lexus)

This seems to defeat the purpose really, why even go in that direction? Whats not to like about a sport suspension?

The M is more of a sport sedan unlike the likes of Lexus and Mercedes Benz. But if you want to soften up the right, change your wheel setup. 18" wheels with more rubber will improve ride comfort by a good bit...
