Welcome.

I don't have much to say as I haven't done that swap myself. However, one of our other Maxima moderators, Maxhopper97, has done a few swaps like that and should be able to let you know what to expect.

You will not need to retime the engine (as long as you don't mess with the timing chain).

My biggest piece of advise would be to swap every good sensor and outer component off the old engine onto the new one. This includes fuel rail and injectors and EGR components. You may want to swap the sub harness for the rear bank injectors that also runs down to the oil sending unit and crank position sensor.

It is much easier to do this stuff with the engine out of the car.
