Nissan Quest 1996......I am replacing my minivan engine before I do that I replaced both front and rear crankshaft seals, when I look at the book or search the internet I see people using special tools, rubber hammers etc to install new seal. I am worried because when I did mine both seals did not require any tools whatsoever, I just pushed them carefully and hard by hand to put them in place. They seem to be OK, they were the right ones. before I install the engine I j want to make sure everything is right. Has this happened to any of you? do you think something is wrong?

I've never heard of the crankshaft seals going in that easily. They generally require a seal install tool or some knowledge of a different way. I know what I said isn't much help but I would go down to a shop and talk to a tech and see what they have to say.
