I have adjustable upper front links and they have poly bushings. One of them (outermost forward side) is smooshing out the side a little and needs to be replaced. I already have the bushing and it should be a really simple job...everything is REALLY easy to get to. But I cannot break the bolt loose.

I tried impact guns, breaker bars, rubber mallets...nothing worked. At one point I used a box-end wrench as a breaker bar on a ratchet and I'm sure the box-end would have cracked before the bolt gave. This is kind of irritating because it should have been a half-hour job at most. I probably spent more time than that on that bolt alone before giving up.

The real problem is that no shops will touch the job because I'm not buying the parts from them (I won't say the profanities that come to mind).

So...any advice? A guy at one shop mentioned using a torch but I doubt that would really help much...it's not a ball joint, it's a bolt. I'm not trying to burn the bushing out, and that won't relieve any stress on the bolt anyway.

This is the bolt in question:

cut it off?

*edit - is the bolt or nut stuck? i had a frozen bolt on one of my tension rods and ended up getting it out with an air hammer.

Go to a local gas station with a service center and pay the mechanic $20 to put on lift and use air impact socket gun to loosen the bolt then torque to 70-80 lbs with a torque wrench......should be easy then for you to remove bolt later at home to complete job
