I'd like to get some new black/dark grey carpet for my car (91 240)... has anyone changed their carpet before? Any tips you can offer would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Changing out the carpet is pretty straight forward. You have to unbolt everything in the cabin almost. Seats, center console, e-brake handle, electric seat belt control unit (dont drop it or seatbelts will work funny). To get the carpet under the dash, you either have to cut one side- this is what i did, or unbolt the dash in a couple places and slide it under. Also, my driver's seat had a wire running to it from under neath (for the seatbelt light i assume). If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks a bunch. When the time comes, if I run into any problems I'll ask. :)

I want to change my carpet out to black, but is there some kind of dye for it that wouldn't make it feel any different or anything, cause that would be a lot cheaper and save unneeded work time that replacing the grey carpet.

It's ony 130 bucks or so for a brand new carpet, the dye would get on everything and be a pain to do. Plus you get that new car smell again.
