I need to change my belts on my car and dont really know how to change them. Can someone give me some idea on what i need to do. I tryed searching but could not find much info on changing belts. I heard that you have to loosen the tensioners to get the belts off. What do the tensioners look like?

ask for FSM pages... i don't have a scanner to help u out... or goto local parts store & just look it up from chilton...

i'm guessing you don't have the owner's manual? because even that shows you where they @

Changing belts is easy ... what you need is a socket set and something to turn them with.

First off remove the clutch fan... its 4 10mm bolts I believe. On the bottom of the fan shroud you can remove a part of the shroud to pull the fan out of.

There are tensioner bolts that you can locate in the car, aka I dont know where they are at the moment. Each belt has one if I remember right. Now what you do is loosen those tensioner bolts and the belts come right off. Then you put the new ones on and retension them. Dont tension them too tight else the belts will break. Too loose and they will squeal.

Its not hard at all. Then you just put your car back together and drive off.

I heard that the FSM doesnt show how to do simple maintenance stuff like belts and there are no chiltons manuals for sale at my local autoparts store. Thanks for the explanation Nismo_freak.

Yeah i found that pulley install on 240.org and it was quite helpful. I figured it out after reading that. Visual aids are always good. I didnt need to remove the fan or the shroud.
