I have a 1997 Infiniti Q45 with about 54,000 miles on it. I am interested in changing all the drive belts on the engine. There are 4 belts on this engine. I also have the factory service manual for this car. (This is the factory shop manual that sells for over $200) There is nothing in that book on a step by step process to change the belts. I have looked the job over and I can already see that all the belt tensioners will have to be removed because the belts pass through them. It looks like a pretty big job. I am a reasonably good mechanic and I was looking for written, step by step, instructions on how to change these drive belts so that I can save some time. Does anyone know where I can obtain these instructions?

Thanks,Robert E.

I don't have any 97Q experience so I'm not exactly following you here... You don't have idlerpullies with screw driven positioners? Maybe some pictures would help. Also, check in section "MA" of the book - it will at least show torque specs...

It doesn't have "Spring" tensioner like and American car. The "screw" tensioners encapsulate the belts there requiring that they be removed before replacing the belts. Thanks for the advice I will look in the section MA in the sevice manual.
