ok, ive been searching for a 240sx a lont time and i finally found one. its perfect for me exept the fact that is automatic *Crap* but for the price the guys selling it to me, i might be able to change the transmision. ok what i want to know is:

-what are all the parts that im going to have to buy/get to change the transmision-the prices of those parts-how much work is going to take me and my dad to do it-and how to do it

Because if it too hard to do it or its going to cost me too much money, i preffer not doing it, but if its "cheap"and its not that hard, i would love to do it. thanks

Welcome to NICO...

First thing you will learn here - always SEARCH before asking a question. You will find answers to probably 98% of your questions there. Click the button in the upper right corner of the window.

This is probably the only time someone will give you answers to something like this, auto-manual swaps are probably one of the most talked about things on this forum.

You will need the manual transmission, crossmember from a manual transmission, driveshaft also from a manual transmission, flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, clutch pedal, brake pedal (optional), and all fluid lines.

I found the big stuff at a salvage yard, and bought the clutch kit, flywheel, master and slave cylinders, and lines new. Total I spent $1200, but everything can be sourced for a lot cheaper than that.

It took me and my father two whole saturdays to complete it. It really is pretty straight forward...hardest part is mounting the clutch pedal.

Check out the link to my cardomain page in the sig...I did a writeup that I think will answer most the other questions you may have. There are other writeups floating around that are better than mine, so it wouldn't hurt to find them too.
