Im looking for a write up to change an alternator in my 99 nissan sentra. Any one have a write up or any info. Ive changed alternators before but not in this car. Im assuming its pretty much the same , im just looking to see if anyone has any other usefull info.

i don't remember if i had to do one on my old b14, but everything about that car was fairly straight forward. i imagine the biggest hurtles will be accessing mounting bolts and maneuvering the old alternator out and the new one in.

FWD alternators are always a bit of a PITA, since they tend to be crammed against the inner fender. But they're not terrible. Really, the toughest part tends to be releasing the tensioner pulley so you can get the belt off--the pulley is ALSO crammed in between the block and fender and there's not always a lot of room for moving a wrench of man-sized arm.

Remember to disconnect the battery or you'll probably get a fun surprise while trying to unscrew the thing.

Sentras are usually good for having a removable panel in the wheel well for that kind of stuff also... remove the passenger wheel and see if you have one.
