changing air intake

can i upgrade my air intake system, and then later get a turbo and the intake wont get in the way ?ive seen many 240sx s13 hatch with a turbo and intake on that going in the way of an aftermarket one.my ? is am i wasting my money to get one now and having 2 rip it out or will it fit with a turbo n intake mounted later ?

If in the future you use a silvia side mount intercooler you may be able to use the intake as part of the piping. Other than that you may be able to use the filter adapter on your turbo setup. I have been using my AEM filter and adapter on my setup since the get go.

You could always put together a custom short ram intake on the passenger side of the car and save yourself the cost of a whole intake system.
