I tried to change the air filter in my 04' G35 Coupe and I noticed that the area around it is really tight. I was wondering how everyone else changes their air filters? Thanks

Most swap them completely out with a CAI, JWT/Ztube, Fujita or Stillen.

You just have to take apart the air box, take the old one out and put a new one in. I have an aftermarket on mine so I don't remember the stock one that much--its sitting on a shelf in my closet. But when I took it out, I had to be a little rough with it--don't worry it can take it.

It's a royal PITA.

The easiest way I've found is to remove the flex hose first, then open up the box. That will give you a little more room. I'm not sure what the moron engineers were thinking when they designed this other than a method of making the dealerships more money.

I'm thinking once you get the flex hose loose and pop out where the box connects, you lift up on the box and rotate it counter-clockwise to lift it out enought to remove the filter.I would at least add the z-tube.Check with your local Nissan dealer to see if they have any 'take-offs'If not, check classifieds here or ebay for a used one.
