I just jacked up my car and checked the location of the fill plug.... man its way up there... It's probably a good idea to fill through the shifter...

recommended fluid amt is 2.5L how much do you actually put in?

no.you do not want fluid to dribble otu of the drain plug.hopefully you would have tightened the drain plug.

I think he meant the fill hole. Make sure the car is level while you are doing this.

I found that to be really tough to do...keep a lowered car, with sideskirts level, while changing the fluid...tough...find a lift!! I filled through the shifter...just installed the B&M...sick shifter.

shifter is easier. you need an extra long needle nose pliers and a slim flat head screwdriver to get the retainer springs out. to get the larger one in. put on some gloves and googles in case it pops out. face the open end towards the rear of the opening then compress and push it in with your fingers. keep a screwdriver handy to keep it from popping back out. takes a few tries.

oh yeah gl4 75w-90 no synthetic

use a 12 point 17mm socket for the fill plug. it's not an exact fit do to the squareness of the plug, but it's close.

i don't recommend just filling 2.5L into the trans. It's best to fill till it dribbles out the fill hole. a lot of times, extra fluid is trapped in the trans, so when you add 2.5L into it, you may have an extra .5-.75L of fluid still in it making you have over 3.0L

For the side plug I would use a large crecent wrench, works best and good leverage. The bottom one is pain I have yet to ever get the bottom one out. I fill my trans up from the side using a small pump works better than ripping the shifter out. Nick

he uses a pump to fill the trans through the fill plug. That's how I do it as well. It's a lot simpler than pulling the shifter knob and doesn't require a second person to watch the trans to see when it starts to dribble once it hits capacity.

Not everyone has access to something that can pump gear oil, so it's recommended for those people to just pull the shifter and fill it that way.
