changeing speedometers...........

hey guys i just found a 240sx hatchback speedometer cluster on ebay and i was wondering if this would be easy to change to from a digital speedometer in my 1990 240sx coupe. i thought this would be a good solution for my digital speedometer problems of misreading my mph because i have different sized tires/rims than stock...(plus i just hate digital speedometers in general)... you guys think this would work??? thanks!!!

hey i just read a post on another forum and it said that i needed a "sub-harness" to switch from analog to digital..... the analog gauge i was going to buy is right here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...d=1,1

does this include the sub-harness for the swap??? thanks!!!

also check to see if the engine matches yours-sohc vs. dohc. the wiring works and fits perfect, but the tach wont if you have a dohc motor and the speedo is from a sohc or vice versa...just my 2cents.

yeh my car is a 1990 240sx coupe with a SR20DET..... i think that speedometer came out of a SOHC 240sx which should work fine with mine....... (i am assuming it is a SOHC speedometer because of the 6500rpm redline.) i thought about buying one of those custom gauge cover things to make it appear to be a 7500rpm redline. what do you think???
