Okay, where to start. So a couple years ago I bought a 91 na auto 2+2. It had all the valves bent. I rebuilt the engine and got it running. But then I had serious bottom end issues. So I gave up and tried selling it. But I just can't do it, I love z's. So how hard would it be to put a 5 speed na engine in? All I would have to do is drop it in and do the clutch assembly right?

Glad you're keeping it, but it's not quite that simple.

if you're just doing the engine, yes, it's simple. If you're converting to a 5-speed, no, not simple.

What's different besides installing the clutch assembly?

Adding clutch petal
adding clutch master cylinder
adding piping for hydraulic system
different drive shaft
adding shifter and shifter brackets
different alternator/transmission harness

need I go on?

I can't use the alternator and harness that comes with the new engine and trans? I forgot about the driveshaft, and everything else was expected with the clutch installation

If you get a 5Speed engine, you can use that transmission alt harness.

This is more information than I could ever type out

Yeah that's what I planned on doing, new na engine with 5speed transmission with it. Come with an uncut wire harnesses and ecu. I'm sure I can pick up a drive shaft and clutch assembly off z1

There may be used parts cheaper and closer to you (assuming you're in NJ). I'd contact Bernie Bilski, he has much more than what's listed here.
