My ignition button was getting intermitent and I had a GT-R button on the shelf at work. Changed it over in about 20 minutes on my lunch break. Fixed the issue of having to push it a couple of times before the system would do anything. What do you guys think?

So that delay is a button issue? Mine, after getting new fobs, takes 1-2 seconds to respond before the car starts where as before it was much quicker.

Hard to say on that. Mine was taking 2, 3 and even 4 pushes of the button at times before it would do anything.

I have the same delay as Ilya. It seems to be normal operation for this vehicle. If I sit in the car for a few more seconds before pressing the button, it does't delay as long. I believe it has to do with sensing the FOB.

I have a start button that I changed out the LEDs that I want to switch with my current button -
1. I got the silver surrounding bezel off
2. I pulled back the panel on the RIGHT side of the steering wheel and started to push out the button from below, but only got it about a third of the way until it won't budge.

Did you have to push really hard to get it out? any other pointers on making the switch?
I just don't want to break anything, so I chickened out and put everything back.

I have the same delay on the ignition switch on my 2011. I've only had the car for a couple months, so I always through it was "normal". It's not that I have to push the button multiple times, but I do need to keep it pushed down for 1 to 2 seconds before the engine fires up.

I know you posted this a while ago, but if you haven't gotten an answer and for any others who may want to do this. I had to remove the start/stop button when installing the remote start on my M37X.

If you go to that thread: how-to-install-fortin-remote-start-2012 ... 13141.html

Step 14 and 15 show the button removal. You don't need to pull the bezel off. I removed the lower dash panel and used a screwdriver to push in on one of the tabs on the side of the button from behind. It looks like it should be able to just pop out from the front but it gave me a lot of resistance and I didn't want to scratch my dash prying on it.
