Well he got the Magnaflow and we're set to install next week. Now the last thing is should we remove the 2 resonators that we thought were cats? Looking at them now it's fairly obvious they're resonators considering the O2 sensors are before them. How much louder will it be with them removed? Will it be obnoxious?

That's what I'm hoping for.

It will NOT give you a better tone, dont remove the resonators if youre looking for a deep sound, you want a little less restriction, sure take em off, but dont expect it to help the raspyness. Hell, add another set!!

My last exhaust where I had it coming out the side behind the passenger door was a magnflow 40, single in single out though, sounded great, not as loud as I wanted though. Got compliments all the time

After driving around all day getting some exhaust estimates, I have been told by numerous mechanics that deleting the resonator will give it a more raspy/ricer type of sound. They said that the best bet is to keep the current resonators or use aftermarket if possible.

I also found that the pre-muffler piping is all less than 2" OD. This has caused me to think about installing two round mufflers instead of a single oval muffler and keeping the pipe diameter the same or go up to 2.25".

Yeah, it is 1.65" OD, I'm not sure if I should go up to 2" or not. I want to maintain EGV and I'm not sure if going up to 2" is a good idea or not.

I seriously considered some Cherry Bombs but I think they would be too loud (although I've never heard Cherry Bombs in person). The price is really tempting tho. I was thinking of going with two Magnaflow 4" round mufflers, but I need to talk that over with the guy doing the exhaust.

With my soon to be replaced 50 series I have noticed a small increase in all around acceleration and that a dual 2.25"in. I wouldn't worry about a drop in performance.
