ok here is the thing. i blew a head gasket a while back. it say for about 3 months before i had time 2 work on it. so i replaced all gaskets needed and had the head rebuilt. i have everything in top dead center im getting fuel and spark but it wont start up? the distributor is in top dead center. when my friend took the head off he didnt set it to tdc. could this cause the lower timing chain 2 be out of time even though im not bending valves or breaking pistons? any help would be much apperciated. this just has me stumped

definitely, in fact 99.9% positive that's your problem. odds thats when you took it apart it was at tdc on cylinder one by accident are very small. and it is also possible to have the timing wrong without bending anything.

You just need to set it to tdc on cylinder one by the crank pulley and then redo the top chain, cams, and distributor accordingly.
