so i changed my clutch on my 95 s14...i went out and bought a stage 3 from clutch masters and i installed it yesterday....the clutch and pressure plate went on just fine but the throw out bearing i got was completly different and there was no way of me putting it on so i decided to use the stock one until i could get a new one then just swap it out if i needed to...so i plugged the transmission back up and finish putting everything together and bleed like half of a bottle of brake fuild (big bottle)...

now when the car is turned off it will go into gear but when i start the car it will not go into any gears, its like im hitting a wall???then i started the car while it was in gear and the car felt like it was going to die and i slowly let the clutch go and the car felt like it was taking off as if i applied gas to it???

so i called the guy at the shop and he tells me its the throw out bearing, and this is happening because its a stage three clutch and the stock throwout bearing is not strong enough???so he is getting me a new one...

so is it the throw out bearing or what???please help out guys....thanks

how can a throw out bearing not be strong enough? its only purpose is to push against the pressure plate to disengage the clutch. you need to re-bleed the clutch again. did you bleed it at the damper box?

i have removed the damper and when i bleed it it nothing but fluid that comes out???i dont think the problem is me needing to bleed it cause the pedal comes up and goes down fine...

well it looks like maybe the kit calls for a longer throw out bearing then. did you check the slave to make sure its pressing the fork all the way?

I agree with danielsan, if the kit was designed for the other bearing then you using the stock (shorter) bearing is making it so that when the clutch is pressed it is not fully pushing on the pressure plate and letting the clutch disk spin freely. This is compounded by the fact that the stage 3 clutch material doesn't like to spin or rub on the flywheel or the pressure plate like oem material.
