hi guys new to the site and 300's. on my 1990 jap 300zx ive recently done a cambelt change and when i went to start it after it fires cuts out, coughs then just cranks and keeps trying to fire. pretty sure the timing marks are right. all 4 cams line up with dimples on back cover and crank looks right without big pully on. with the big pulley on the timing mark on the pully sits dead on the 0 degrees on the cover timing teeth. any 1 got a idea? :ohno:

Well, unfortunately, the dimples are the wrong reference. You have to use the lines on the belt against the cam and crank marks. I am willing to bet your timing is off.

did you check both the driver's side and the passenger's side? My experience is that the driver's side will line up with the dots, but the passenger's side won't. Next thing to check would be the PTU , CAS connections, to make sure the connectors were put back on solid.

Good luck, post back if you need anything else.
