We get free State inspections for life at the dealer. Last inspection the dealer said we need to change the CVT fluid at 50,000 miles because we don't put a lot of miles on the car. Rather expensive but if it has to be done ? They do not use Nissan fluid. They use BG fluid. They say it's better and cheaper. Any input on this will be appreciated.

The transmission should have the extended warranty by Nissan up to 8years/120k miles, so don't worry about the transmission. However, whatever fluid they used, it might be the cause when the CVT goes bad. And did they do a D&F (drain and fill) or did they do a full system flush?

The CVT fluid does need to be changed, I think 40k is the recommended mileage but it might be a bit more. I’ve heard that BG offers a replacement guarantee with the use of their products. Which might be worth checking out if that’s what they are going to use.

BG is not really what Nissan recommends.
