ok so for a hot min I was askin all of these questions about my RB20DET "2.4" rebuild to throw into to my s13 coup. The RB20 is already pulled and on a stand and my s13 is prepped and in the body shop. This I might add is all just fan fkin tastic because as a neglected to mention initially I totaled my daily lexus es300 last week and my new old lotus (which i made a happy little post about) is currently getting the wheels refinished and some odds and ends done. This leaves me with my crotch rocket to buy groceries in, and its not exactly riding season in texas.
Back to my point. I met a mutual friend while hanging out at my buddies who just happened to have a fully built r34 rb25det neo that has dyno sheets with it showing it making 575rwhp on 93 in the 240 it came out of. I became pretty chummy with this guy who we both know though our mechanic friend and one thing lead to another and he made me an offer i cant resist on the engine. . . . .and um i bought it. . . . .and its like 6:30am and my gf does know there is another engine calling our garage home. Its gonna be super cute when she finds out later today. So yea now I have the decisions to make, and this is where i need some input. So two things. The RB20 is still being built into its 2.4 bored and stroked and whatever rebuild. I already bought the parts and I already made space in my work area for it. Second thing is I really wanna put this build rb25neo into something and go faassssttttt. So community should I a) make the 2.4 build a priority as per my original plan and drop that puppy in my s13 coup, or should I b) continue to work on the 2.4 project but as a less accelerated pace, drop the neo in straight away after the whip gets out the paint/body shop and then piss my gf more when I by another 240 or something to put the 2.4 built motor in down the line.
I will add that either way the engine that goes in is getting set up/tuned for both e85 and 93. Additionally in terms of my girlfriends happiness non of this will please her. Ironically I just noticed that it is also like 4 day till V-Day and I have not even begun to think what I am going to do for her.. . . . . .yeah im gonna stop posting now and get on that. :rotfl

oh for reals last thing transmission options for rb25neo going into a s13 coup? pretty much the 5sp neo transmission or do the whole pull/push swap z32 frankentranny thingy? Forgot to mention I do not has transmission for said rb25det neo engine purchased.

Since you already have the neo Rb25 motor that's already built might as well rock that and burn the Rb24 project. Run the stock Neo trans till you blow it up and hybrid the Z32 onto it.

Well problem (which really isnt a bad problem to have) is all the rb24 build parts are like bought, paid for, delivered, and fkin with the feng shui thing I got goin on in my house. So either way this rb24 build is happening maby not with timeline i had originally planned but its goin down. Thing is i dont have car to put it in :( Anyone got like a datsun 510 they need to sell.

well damn guys lol the s*hit hit the fan this morning, my girlfriend is defeninantly not pleased with the neo 25/rb20/motorcycle, bass boat, lotus esprit, stripped down 90 240sx preped for paint and body, everest size of car parts/tools/man cave set up thats currently goin on in our garage I think she is upset that her bimmer got involuntary transfered to the driveway making her feel like since i dont love her car like my cars, that this directly translating into me thus not loving her Sigh, any one got any pro tips on what I could do this Valentines Day to calm her nerves over this slight "relationship issues" She is a adult behavorial psych licenced therapist sooo the usual get out of jail for free stuff dont fly with her Its brutal how fast she can tear down logic and explinations I give her She will bust out some paper and even draw you a logic flow chart as to exactally why im wrong every time lol

Granted, I will concede that our lovley large garge that we just had anti-stain shop floor installed in does look like a tactical nuke went off in there But I promised her that I wouldnt buy any more project cars after the lotus esprit <which i actually had titled in her name as a gift, so it technically hers> and the issuse is that she considers this neo engine I just bought as a "new project, in clear violation of the prior made agreement that I would not adopt any new projects However, if we were to consider that this were a court case <im obv joking, me and my gf of 7yrs honestly have a great thing together, and are very much in love and both come from car families so it is a common interest of ours> i do believe that from a legal stand point since, neither party specified what constituted as a "new project" or placed a time frame/terms of saction removal, nor were any clauses made that specifically classified engines as falling under the "new project ban", it is my firm beliefe that this entire issue should be dismissed and all punitive measures that I will surely be facing be null and void, effective henceforth I guess well find out how the sentencing phase goes which im assuming will occur at any min, since ive already recieved the standard "on my way home babe, i need to talk to you about this morning" text Wish me luck gents I hear the garage door as I type I hope she doesnt really get super upset and make me do something silly like sell something in the garage just so her adorable 3series can have some shade Im about to face my fate If you never hear from me again, I probly died a horrifyingly long and painful death caused by slowly having my brain put through a meat grinder of questions, overanalyzation, and naggy lecturing

This is very easy. Tell her you still lover her and it's just a temp thing till you get the motor into the car then she can park inside. No need for the subterfuge when honesty always works best.... lol yeah right. Good luck with that hahaha.

If only it was that easy or straightforward, because im not gonna lie, when i drop the neo in/ move the rb20, i pretty much have already designated "her" space in a male humans most sacred space, for some other not exactally automotive related per se tooling and machine equipment that I bought <she knows about that, wasnt thrilled, but got to tag along to Vegas with me when I went out there to meet some business contacts> So this all really boils down to the fact she has no indoor parking <boo who right?> anymore and with the current amount of crap in there it will realistically take <provided sactions remain upon my garage and no new projects are undertaken> 5-6 months before her poor bimmer will be eligble for reapplication for covered parking This displeases my beloved greatly and is a major reason my a** is covered in teeth marks <not in the way you wish it was> from it being chewed out constantly over who is entitled to what space in the garage For me its pretty straight forward My entire home looks like a fkin better home and gardens magazine martha stuart feminine hell hole I believe that it is within my right to ask that the awesome garage we had built during construction of the house <with the full understanding that I would rule this domain> be totally under my jurisdiction and may fill it with as many projects and toys as I wish Although her point about me having a bass boat, while not have having owned fishing equipment since we met seven years ago has a merit i suppose

RB20's are garbage. Why anyone would spend the money on one in the first place is beyond me, considering the KA is 100x's better motor, and it came IN the car. Throw that 20 down a storm drain and use the NEO motor.

Please go into further detail on how exactally RB20 motors are trash Ill wait Also elaborate on how a KA is "100x" better than the RB Additionally i would also like to know what specifically makes the fact that a motor that was origionaly in a car better enough to justify the capitalization of the word "IN" in your post lol I would also like to point out that the issue of what engine is getting what done to it and where those respective engines are going was pretty much spelled out after like the 3rd response to this thread I guess the huge point im making is that your entire post is pointless fluff that brought nothing to the table and left us all dumber for have reading it

-awaits response with calmness and tranquility with the knowledge that his total automotive performance experience in years is greater than the age of the person that made this ludacris post about nothing-

BTW just out of curiosity have you actually ever built an engine from the naked block up Or have you ever welded and fabricated custom one off parts for cars? Do you know what the terms "undersquare" and "oversquare" mean and how they relate to engines? Do you even own a decent collection of not s*** tools to even try and do the things you wish you could do to your car?

I mean really bro? I hope you just started making your post, was just starting to realize what useless bull s*** it truly was, but then suddenly you had a seizure and accidently hit submit

EDIT: lol just noticed he from Mobile, AL that would explain many things about this post and the person that wrote it In case you dont get it, becuase your not from the US im saying that due to his geographical place of residence there is a 99 percet chance he is inbred/mentally defecient in a server way Sorry for the State-ist comment, but Alabama has a the reputation it does for a reason

Don't worry about Chad he's still kind mad that his RB25 burnt a piston.

Mostly likely from driving it like someone that should be not allowed a drivers licence Im up here making light of this silly argument me and my girlfriend have been having for a bit, talking a bit of shop on a couple of badass motors i own, and homeboy chad pull up and post some random pointless crap about that has no sources, refrences, or value to it what so ever Lets get a round of applause for Chad B and the big dump he took on my thread i created to get intelligent feedback on two baller status RB builds Im blessed to have the option of choosing between

Sorry to dump on your 20, I was out of line for junking your thread. I think those motors are pointless for many reasons, although I'm not starting a pissing match on here out of respect for other members.

+1 Sell off the RB20 and all the parts you have for it.

I want to see pics of your new old lotus esprit. An esprit restoration and swap project has been on my mind for years, but the 240 kept taking priority. Now that it is mostly complete and pushing 665 whp, I'm looking for new ideas.
