Hey all,

I recently moved from Canada to the United States and imported my 2010 Nissan Rogue with me. Does anyone know if there is a way to change my odometer from KM to miles? Does anyone else have experience importing a Rogue from Canada to the US? I'm also maybe interested in getting to speedometer switched out so the miles are bigger than KM. It's not a huge deal, but if there is an easy/low cost solution to this I would be interested. Thanks!

I am just guessing, but I don't think it can legally be done. If you get a new speedometer, it will have zero miles. It like tampering with the odometer. Maybe it can be legally adjusted. You see a lot of cars imported from the US that uses miles, so I don't think it will be easy.

You'll have to switch out the instrument panel (IP). That's the only way to do it. I brought a 05 Altima down with me back in 07 and that was the only option. Additionally, the car will then have a notation on it's history report that the millage is undermined (or something like that) because the IP was replaced and switched to US Customary. Your local Nissan dealer can do this for about $1000 if memory serves.

I moved to Missouri and officially importing the car wasn't necessary to register it (change the IP, disable DRLs - to bright for US law - and get a sticker from the US gov't). However if you don't officially import you can't sell/trade the car to registered dealers, private sale only. An importer can take care of all this for you.

Keep this in mind.
