Change Gauge Backgrounds?

I just bought an 03 murano SL. Its black on black, tinted windows, nice and clean. I love NEARLY everything about it... the nearly is just the gauge cluster...

While I am not a fan of any of the gauge pod, the colour or my backgrounds is a nasty Orange-Yellow combination... I know it goes with the colour of my dash lights, and screen, but I hate them!

Wondering if anyone has taken the cluster apart and changed the backgrounds?

Thanks for having this site, I have always been a big fan of the forum sites for my cars, and glad to see there is a good following for the murano too!

Welcome to the Murano Forum! Glad to have another good neighbor from the north join NICOclub!

Unfortunately I do not have any experience changing the orange over to another color. Honestly, I doubt it can be done very easily. Lets see if anyone else has any ideas. Sit tight and check back.

I have done it in previous cars, with varied success... just remove the cluster, pop off the needles and replace the skins.

However, I saw the gauge cluster from an 06, they are mainly black, with orange backlight it seems... I am trying to find out how much a cluster from an 06 would cost, and go from there. Its gorgeous, and would fit well in the car obviously. Mine is black on black, so the orange is nice actually...

A bit more looking nets good results... Turns out there are some more specific to my year forums... And they have been talking about it, some have done the swap. Ill start looking for an 06 cluster!
