Hi all,I have a 2000 sentra xe. I got the oil changed and noticed the belts are cracking on the inside. I think I found the bolts to loosten them but I can't seem to get them loostened. So my question is where is the bolt to get the belts (alt, pwr steering, a/c,) loostened. Thanks, oh where can I find the engine and chasis number? Sorry for the dumb question, and thanks

lets see. 2000 sentra xe should have a qg18de engine and all the info you are looking for should be on a little plate on the firewall. there will also be more info of that sort in the drivers door jamb. if i remember correctly you have 2 belts. there should be an idler pulley with a 14mm nut on it. loosen that nut and then loosen the 8mm bolt sticking out above the a/c compressor(easier from underneith). then you have the p/s belt which is a pain. you have to loosen the p/s pump bolts, the adjuster lock bolt and then back off the adjuster bolt. all this and you may need to turn the crankshaft with a 27mm socket to "walk" the belts on and off.
