this may seem stupid but i was wondering what the chances are of flipping an a/c..

Im wondering this cause over the weekend me and my friends were messing around in an empty parking lot drifting around. everything was fine but when we were about to leave i decided i was gunna try doing it a little faster and i guess it was just the g forces but i really felt like i was about to flip. kinda freaked me out haha

It should be near impossible to flip the AC on flat ground..

If you have it lowered with springs, id take a risk and say its IMPOSSIBLE on flat ground...

My assumption is you are on stock 2.5 rubber, which isnt good, but I still dont think its likely to be able to flip it on just a hard turn.

haha i did my share of ebrake spins on parking lot when I was like 20 and I drove 2001 altima GXE. I used to go 50mph... and do 180 degree spin using ebrake... pop it in reverse... and do a reverse 180 right after without stopping on dry pavement. Never fliped my car. Although.... it did leave a bald spot on rear tires which caused bad vibration at high speed. Ahhh... those good days.

its more fun to do it one at a time, and you will get more satisfaction out of it...

Enjoy each aspect each modification adds to the setup, then add a new one.... You will be all excited over a "new part" for months that way.. if you do it all at once the "new part feeling" will wear off faster!

This is a great topic and id love to have a legit answer.

My gf has an suv and it has a 2 star roll over rating. When we are doing 80 on the high way and she switches lanes i cringe. The A/c feels steady and strong at 100 plus.

I still think the A/c could flip but the chances are very slim.

The legit answer is mathematical... or to be figured out by someone with a death wish...

The center of gravity + weight + down force + tire contact patch + lateral G force... all with some fancy math, gives you the answers

You can flip an A/C if you slide sideways into a curb, or maybe a ditch, but it will NOT flip on pavement.... this isn't an SUV, it's a car!

Ive done several ebrake skidouts in an extremely icey unsalted parking lot this winter and it was fine. Stalled the car but still on the ground hehe

Well an iced over lot wont allow a flip, it wouldn't allow you to build up enough lateral G force to turn the car over, what you are looking for is GOOD grip, then a sudden change in direction where the G force is beyond the threshold for keeping the cars balance below the center line... If that makes sense.

you can flip any car, but there are too many variables involved like road condition, speed, wind direction and speed, car model and suspension type.

The A/C actually has a 5 star rollover rating...with a low center of gravity and a pretty wide wheelbase for the size of the car, you are most likely going to need some other external force popping the car up to try and flip the car...

I havent flipped yet and I spun out 720degrees at 90mph around a corner once with the 2.5. I popped the passenger side front tire bead with some woodchips but other than that the car was fine. Drove away but the person who I passed right before that stopped, called me an ***hole, and left. lol

i want better suspension components tho- should i start w/ sway bars an links? an then go to eibach? on my old car i never lowerd it- just did insides

im takin LBC's step of doin sum things first- till my big deal next year wat should i do first then?

This thread should be "chances of drifting an a/c" 0%.

It wasnt a 90 degree and it was a pretty long curve. The road was banked wrong like the crown was ridiculous and it made my car lose grip and start sliding then I tried to correct and it just fkd it all up
