I Emailed the seller and they say the price is correct. But I get the feeling this is a scam because the car appears to be two different colors in the pictures, the license plates have been removed, and this car is supposed to be in Orange County but the background of the picture appears to be somewhere in the desert.http://orangecounty.craigslist....html

The car probably has a million miles on it.

The seller says it has 151,168 miles on it. Just in case this is legit does anyone know what problem areas I should be looking for on a third generation Q45?

Have the dealer run the VIN for service history. I would personally leave the car alone. One major repair bill can set you back more than $2,000 easily.

$2,000 is definitely not a major repair! Maybe an everyday middle of the road repair. $2,000 is the annual cost of mainteances and wear item replacement Tires, brakes, fluids and filters....prorated wear items to be saved might be $500 of this.

A transmission is $4,500, an engine [used replacement] is $6,000. Ac system restoration is $2500.

It's called a scam. I bet if you search enough big city CL's you'll find it listed on a few.

Here it is in Dallashttp://dallas.craigslist.org/d....html

And near NYhttp://newyork.craigslist.org/....html

Googling "2003 Infiniti Q45 Sedan $2600" shows it's been listed in 5 or 6 different cities.

Yes, its definitely a scam, I just got this reply back from the seller which is typical for a scam. From my experience looking at Craigslist ads some typical tip-offs to a scam are an unusually low price, no license plates visible in the pictures, cars pictured with a background not typical for the area, or the one person who always commments the car doesn't smell.

Hello,The transaction fits the eBay Purchase Protection plan and will be covered by eBay. eBay Purchase Protection reimburses buyers who are involved in a vehicle transaction on the eBay Motors, Craigslist, and AutoTrader sites. The program provides reimbursement for all the situations that can appear in a transaction. The money will be sent to an eBay agent. After the payment is confirmed and secured by eBay I will start the shipping. The car will be in front at your door in max 5 days. From the moment you receive the car you have a 5 days inspection period. After the 5 days you have to decide if you want to keep the car or not. If you'll keep the car the payment will be released to me. In case you will not like the car and decide not to keep it you will have to ship the car back and you will be fully refunded. If you are interested and want to move forward please send me your full name, address and telephone number and I will initiate the transaction through eBay. Once that is done, you would probably be informed in the next 24 hours upon all the details of the transaction (terms, buyer protection coverage, payment instructions, invoice for the purchase).Regards,

That's right....the LCC will cost more than $2,000 to repair. But you missed my point...which was one minor repair can exceed the selling price of the car.

I've seen it on CL in Charlotte or ATL, can't remember which. Not sure of the motive behind it, but I have seen similar "too good to be true" repetitive posts with Frontiers in teh past.

I have always found that a good rule of thumb for Craigslist ads is if there is no phone number listed it is probably suspect and should be avoided.
