chains and lights

i recently bought a 91 240 and the lights behind the cluster and tail lights dont work. Do you guys have any solutions? I NEED HELP

also i notice the cam chain is scratching my ka24de valve cover? what is the best thing to do. take it to a shop to tighten it or do it myself? and if doing it myself what do i need.

Join the club, I know this isn't much help. I'm going to go ahead and assume that you don't have side marker lights either. Check all your fuses, if you're lucky you'll find some that are blown. The fuse box is on the driver side kick panel, I pray that you knew that already. If you're not lucky, then you'll be like me and about 40,000 other people with the same problem. If you have a fuse, I don't really remember which one because it was a while ago and its about 2:30 in the morning. But it'll be a 15A fuse. If thats busting my best suggestion is to unplug all your exterior lights (not just the bulbs its self, but the whole bulb housing, there should be a simple clip). Then turn on your headlights and if the fuse doesn't pop then start plugging lights back in one at a time being sure to check the fuse after each new attachment. Im sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I'm still without dashlights.

hey is there a electrical unit that controls the tail lights ?

Try replacing the TCU. It's a little white box located near your driver side kick panel. Go hunting in a junkyard and pick one up for about $20. Thats most likely the problem.

I had that problem for a while...replaced fuses, TCU, traced wiring....turned out that the connectors on the back of the fuse block had fallen out somehow (the metal clips that hold the fuses in)...drove me nuts until I figured it out....
