my 93 SE-R started making terrible noise while back, sounded like a rod knock I parked the car and haven't touched it till the other day, started up making racket, then it smoothed out?I drove it around the block and found that it sounds fine up to about 3000 rpm, then it starts almost a valve noise kinda sound, by 4000 rpm it sounds like a rod knocking, granted this is form inside the car while drivingI havn't tried free reving the eingine, and might have more time to look into it a bit more this weekend, but I was wondering if the SR was also known to suffer the dreaded chain guide issues that plague the VH and KA, or if anyone has any other ideas that cause engine speed dependent noises?

BTW the car has 200k on the clock, and I have 2 engines in 2 machine shops right now and really don't want another

did some digging and found some tensioner problems on earlier cars, I just ordered a new tensioner (fingers crossed) still open to other things I might check while I'm at it

I'm doubting the tensioner is the cause at this point, seems the noise is coming form the area of #3, the intake cam lobe looks to be pretty well worn wonderign now if oil starvation could have allowed excess wear and slop in the valve train
