Pulled the radiator out and got the block clean. Taking the front cover off tomorrow. Dealer showed no records of any timing related work and the car has records to '92. All blue RTV, so I'm ordering the parts tomorrow. Thank god the car has been maintained so well. I bet I'll find those plastic guides about ready to disintegrate after this many miles. I also decided to replace the lower radiator hoses and all of the belts. Good time to take the oil filter off, WAY easy with everything gone. Also putting a trans cooler on, the reccomended B&M unit. After I recover some fundage I'll get the trans flushed and filled and then install the inline filter. Anybody know which line from the transmission is the return? I'm assuming it's the line into the side of the trans as opposed to the line into the top? Thanks alot guys! The posts are priceless!

Be sure to piece the guides back to gether to verify there are no small or even large chunks in the crankcase.

Please post which filter assy you end up using. I've had a B&M cooler in my trunk for months awaiting install. I want to add a simple thread on/off filter if it's an easy option.

I'm using a simple CarQuest inline filter that I will most likely put close to the metal line by the oil pan for ease of change. All it is is two hose clamps, one on each end. Breeze to install and change out. Not going to use it til after I get the transmission flushed. I wish I had my own flushing machine. I don't like other knuckleheads turning wrenches on my car, only this knucklehead. I might put a drain in the converter and drain the fluid that-a-way.
