well, my 91Q just did a thing yesterday where it lost power all of a sudden but still got home fine. I'd have to give it a lot of gas to get to 60mph and it would shift down and when the motor would rev it made a tapping noise. It idles smooth. It is slow to start though. It turns over fast enough cuz the battery is good, it just doesn't want to start much. There's itty bitty shiny glitter in the oil. When I let it sit overnight and started it in the morning, it make a tapping noise for 2 seconds and then idled smooth. I think I had a chain guide go and a cam jumped a tooth or two. I had thought they'd already been replaced as the timing cover has orange silicone all around it. It's no big loss though as I haven't gotten around to fixing the sunroof and hail damage yet. And the 92 Active Q, I've had the front cover off for like 3 weeks now and my guides I ordered from Scottsdale Infiniti still aren't here. The chains are zip tied tight and cams haven't jumped time, but I'll have to see how the rest of the project goes. Damn these chain guides... Hey Jesda, if my car goes well with the guide replacement, you could bring your car here with the new guides, bolts, and front seal and I could help ya do the job. I'm 13 miles north of the Missery border.

I'd be up for that. Put together a final price on labor (because you'd be doing all of the work while I take pictures and ask questions... I am not good with cars). I'd be willing to make the journey for your services.

If youre willing to take on the job, drop me a line:[email protected]

got the guides at 2 today. Got the car ready to start up at 4. Runs great. Feels good to save $2200 (cost of labor for the job in Des Moines). Only thing is that now the water pump drips out the seep hole. This is in the 92 a. Now it's time to rob the water pump from the 91 Q that just had the guides go yesterday. I took off the pump and re siliconed it twice before figureing out that it was the seep hole and not my silicone job. I wasted a couple hours becoming REALLY familiar with water pump removal/install, just gotta do it once more now before dark.
