I've decided to do my Q45's guides myself. I had my 240's chain guides done at my buddys shop yesterday, and after many complications, I decided it might not be a good idea to let them do my Q. The 240 is now in tip top mechanical condition and is the perfect daily - and fun car.

I don't feel like I have much to lose by doing the guides myself anyway. Worst case scenario I kill the car and don't have the car I only drive one day a week anymore . I doubt I'll kill it though as long as I have the help of NICO. I'm going through with my air tools investment and getting them next week. I'll probably order the guide kit (minus the chains) through Niello Infiniti (my former dealer). But if Niello doesn't give me a deal like always then I'll go with Joe.

My motivation and reality check was when I saw what was left of my 240's drivers side guide. I'll post pics once members rides is back up.

Question: Where can I get the Q45 service manual that shows how to replace the guides...and everything else in the car? Would this be a good time to subscribe to the online service manual thingy?

Camera phone warning!

This is what was left of my drivers side guide on the 240 which is no bigger than my finger nail

This is another piece of the broken guide which was tangled in the chain

New guides...This is what the guide in the first 2 pictures is supposed to look like - except they weren't metal backed like the ones in this pic(left side)

That right there was enough to make me ground the Q until getting those guides done. I'm praying that I'm a lucky bastard and my Q guides are intact.
