Chain broke on my spare tire mechanism

So I was putting air in the spare tire and just when I was cranking it back up, the chain caught and stopped going up. After some finesse and WD-40, I got the spare to go all the way up, but part of the chain broke in the progress.

Anyways, would I be able to just replace the chain or would I have to buy a new assembly

That sounds like something you could get from a rear-ended junkyard truck.

Try buying a link repair kit, take the broken link with you to match the link size then hammer the repair link to the existing links...done

I know your gunna be like this sounds to good o be true but I put my spare tire in my roof basket, if you pay shipping I will give you the chain or he whole assmebly
