looks good, I'd say match the trim piece. I'm curious though, was it fairly lighter? being CF and they advertise the weight aspect, I know some have said it's negligible but I would like to know it from someone that got it.

there is a difference on the weight . stock weights around 23lbs and CF trunks weights 6lbs...

I have a quick question about that AIT CF trunk. My 2010 is equipped with the back up camera, will i be able to reinstall it to that cf ait trunk with no problem or will i run into a problem.

i would not be able to answer that.. but i can prob work around it. if the camera is on the red trim (if you see my pics youll know what i mean) above the license plate you wont have no problem because thats part of the stock trunk. they werent able to prototype that part of the trunk. hopefully that answers it....

if it didnt answer your question... where is the camera located ?

i believe dangeris was able to remount his backup camera using the trim piece... you should check with him.

If sndtgr08 is trolling this thread...post pics of your paint job so everyone can see how this trunk lid should look!

He did it perfect IMO. Painted the entire lid to match the rest of the AC, but left CF showing on the top along the lines of the rear window/fender all the way back to the very tip of the back lip. He also has carbon fiber roof wrap and it looks AMAZING, flows perfectly. With your roof wrap it would look just as good even though black vs CF.

If paint is out of the question, definitely CF wrap the trim...

EDIT: Found this pic in another thread, you can kind of see what he did here. The only CF showing is whats left on the top of the lid, it follows the line you see all the way around.

Yes you can install teh backup cam but you will need to cut the CF. :ohno: There are indentations of where the came is uppose to be. Just remember to tape everything off first and re-measure everything before cutting and you should be fine :chuckle:

Looks good and the Rear Bumper is BADA$$ with he exhaust sticking out of it. You should get a CF trunk finisher piece like mine though to finish out the look.
Check out the difference ;)

Wonder what this would look like with the stock rear bumper. No offense to the guys with bodykits, but OEM bumpers are the best out there IMO. In for more pics of AIT trunk!

I say leave the piece red. I have the same trunk on my red coupe and i left the trim red, to me it makes the trunk pop and not look so bland, it kind of matches with the black and red. Just my opinion.

Not to thread jack, but since this thread's about the AIT trunk, I thought I'd post this up for anybody else interested in the trunk.

Looks really good on Dark Slate. I was originally gonna get a bodyshop to weld/close the four holes left from my wing, but I'm gonna save up for this trunk instead. Definitely a better option.

I could have sworn that this was available in fiberglass but only found the carbon fiber version on their site. Does anyone have the FG version?
