except for the fact it will be fake carbon fiber? and the whole purpose of getting carbon fiber made items, is the fact they will be REAL C/F... so.. yes, it is very much so rice..

ok then find me a $500 material i can replace the crappy looking carpet with. Then it won't be rice correct?

Real or fake. Why would you spend $100 just to do a panel on your glove compartment or the door panels. But i am sure they make real CF sticky. They just use a thin layer of the hardner and put a sticky side to it.

At least i know whats rice or not now. So, next time anyone takes off their carpet or changes anything inside i'll call them a ricer

but you're using fake carbon fiber...if you re-did them in REAL carbon fiber that would be cool...why dont you just re-cover it in some regular black fabric...that'd probably be cheapest

id recommend covering the panels with gray suede, like the 180SX's in japan

at super autobacs they sell several carbon sheets and stuff. some are stiff, while some are flexible. i bought some (about the size of skateboard griptape length and width) that is flexible and the back is adhesive. sticks well too!

I know there are some motorcycle accessories that are very realistic looking CF. They are in the form of flexible tank protectors. You can't tell by looking at it on the net, but in person it's very cool. It looks like a sheet of CF underneath a 1/4 inch think layer of flexible clear plastic. It's as real looking as you can get. It's not stiff CF like a hood, and isn't "glassy" looking, but you can see that it has 3d texture under the clear coating. Many companies make molded CF protectors, but you would be best served by going to a "Cycle World" or some other bike shop to look at it yourself, you'll see what I mean. Then you may be able to contact one of the companies about selling you a sheet of it for custom applications. Tek

FoliaTec - they make some.

No flaming guys.

There's a market for this stuff, and I doubt you'd call our Pathfinder "rice" even though it has CF trim in the interior (real CF with an adhesive backnig).

Holy crap that's expensive. Keep in mind that one of the best material properties of CF is its stiffness. Don't get the real stuff if you need it to form around tight bends or on comlex/compound curves. The weave makes a difference, 5 or 6-harness contorts more than plain weave.
