I'm playing with the idea of getting a Seibon Hood in a week or two but still am not sure if it will mess up my clean "Zenki" look I'm trying to get. I am getting my Navan skirts, S14A spoiler and rear valences painted and installed this spring. Does anyone have pics of there S14 with CF hoods?

LETS SEE THEM!

They are a little too rice for my style, not really what I would do. Another thing is fitment. I have a friend with an eclipse, and one with a civic. They both paid good money and neither fit right and needed fab.

Also here is a question I have about Adjusting the hood. My Hood dips down towards the front of the car. I've looked and am not sure how to adjust the hood hight??? Anyone got answers to this?

If you are buying "SEIBON" or "Vis" you will not have any fitment issues.

I personally like CF, that is just another personal opinion though.

Take care of it, they do not take care of themselves.

Then after about 4 years if you don't get lazy, buy a second car that seems to steal all your attention, and still care about waxing the cf..... IF IT STILL LOOKS GOOD THATS GREAT, But if it starts to fade. Just paint it to match the car.

But i would not drop the money on a cf hood if your car is lacking in maintenance and or in need of Modification or Repairs elsewhere.

Good Luck,

Ghasty

I do take the car off the road in the winter so it does sit but stays covered. Taking it on and off to store the CF hood is an option but that would be a BEeeoch

In MY opinion, a carbon hood isn't worth it.It's generally a frp hood with a top layer of CF anyways, so the ONLY reason you should get it is if you like the look of a big carbon hood on a painted car.

I would not get one if the plan was to leave it unpainted.

As stated above it SHOULD be the LAST thing you do, as a finishing touch. That is the exact mindset i was in when modding my Daily.

Also stated, you need to have a love for CF, don't get it if it is not something you are into.

I got mine for 3 reasons. The vent that ducts straight to my Intake, the aggressive lines it adds for the front end, and I really am in love with the way CF shines in the sun (at night on occasion as well) .

I did not get it because it was lighter, my daily is not a race car so it did not matter to me.

One Love,

Ghasty

i love cf hoods. i dont think theyre rice at all. my brother got one for his civic though and it fit poorly though. but when we got it to fit well it looked real good. but you do need to take care of it though. my brothers turned white like smoke and it wont come off. i love the dmax d1 style cf hood for the s13. idk about a s14 though. i probably wouldnt get vents if you want it to look clean.

I like the the look of my CF hood from SEIBON, it really changes the aspect of the car and makes it look more aggressive. I however had to do some fab work with my hinges and latch to make it fit perfect.

Yeah I know its really dirty.

Dude thank you very much.

It is a VERY nice Daily driver/commuter.

I only have mod's done to it to give it more of an aggressive sound, a tad bit of flare, and enough interior mods to make it "mine" and enjoyable.

Regular maintenance and up keep on it is VERY VERY EASY.

I am very pleased with her, i want to let her rest though. That is why i want to get a coupe for really cheep!

Ya a bunch of stuff i want to do after i get out of school also haha.

You are going to start having withdraws soon! (from not being on the road)

Hang in there man it is all going to be worth it!

Ok, I take back the comment on fitment issues with them then. Personally though i have not had any problems.

Looks good bro.

if you do, make sure you get hoodpins. i know of three different people whose hoods have flew up and cracked their windshields. and they were vis/seibon hoods, not some cheapo ebay crap either

if u plan to paint it, i always thought that having the paint faid into the CF looked good. i seen an nsx onetime that had a CF hood with a vent, the red paint faded away around the vent so the vent area was still the CF look. looked awesome! but i do agree that it should be among the latest of things done to ur car, especially if the car is being built more along the lines for performance.
