After a small incident at yesterday's Track Day, my hood now has a permanent brown mark on it.

Would you paint over it or replace the hood with a carbon fiber piece???

Or save some money and get a fiberglass hood and paint that.

If you are at all picky about body panel fitment, do not get a cf hood- from my experience anyway. The body is too clean how it is, I say stick with the stock hood!

dont get the cf hood. be smart and buy a lightweight flywheel or something like that. the end result would be much larger

Even though I have a CF hood myself, I say stick with the stock hood.CF Hood- for the reduced weigth, for the fitment.

Clean car dude. Leave a white hood on. Lower it some more and she'll look great!

100% right.. fitment sucks so you get a racer look but loose fit and finish. which is what i think makes a car.

I hate unpainted hoods...even if it is CF. So I guess my opinion is just paint what you have...

Thanks for the input guys, repainted hood it is.

I don't have pics of the damage, but basically the turbo burnt through my old-arse turbo blanket. Eventually the underhood insulation above the turbo caught a small fire, resulting in a brown spot on the top of the hood. The spot is slightly smaller than a laptop. The texture of the paint is fine. Yay...

I would just keep what you have and get it repaired and repainted. It will save you much needed money for future plans and you don't need frustration from fitment issues with a CF hood. Just my opinion with less headaches.

BTW, Puerto Rico is a beautiful island with a lot of bonuses!

You will not like what heat does to CF. Stick to your OEM hood and repaint.

cf looks great, just make sure you get the hood clear coated and it will last without fade
