Looks sexy on your car dude. I personally will not get a CF hood again for any of my cars. I've gone through like 5 of them on my Jetta. From all 5 of them the fit on anyone of them was never right and there were so many problems.

Had one for 2 years ... hard to keep clean and issues with rock chips

Looks all kinds of schweet on your blue coupe!!! Drilling the holes for the AeroCatch pins is nervewracking to say the least, but absolutely worth it. They're so much cleaner looking than the traditional round pins.

Problems? Other than the fit, what issues did you have?

Rock chips? Really? I took my coupe all the way down to socal and back up again, through the mountains during the winter, and parked it outside (ugh...) a couple of times when it was -20...still no problems with my ViS hood whatsoever. As for keeping it clean, I find it's alot better than the straight black hood!

I feel you with regards to shipping and duty. Like I said before, with everything all said and done my total for the hood was around $1200. Le ouch.

Very Nice April! Looks HAWT!!! I know what you mean when you saw the sun hit the hood. It was love at first site for me too

As for cutting holes in it for the aerocatch hood pins, when I did it, my heart was pounding! You'd thought I was doing surgery on my own kids! It was nerve racking for sure but if you follow my DIY and read it through first You'll have no problems. Just remember to get the aero catch plus and jet the JDMPassword mount kit.

blackteam02 wrote:(phone pics)Heres my ViS Terminator CF hood!! ViS/unified distribution did an excellent job packing my hood. it came double boxed and wrapped in huge rolls of paper, a white sheet and foam padding..it took us awhile to get the hood out. ha.my jaw DROPPED when i saw it!!! even though it was opened up inside the house..& when we took it outside and the sun hit it -BAAAMM!!!- its flawless!! no dimples, no wrinkles, no frayed edges..i love it!! id hate to have to drill holes for the aerocatch latches 6 slots in the hood is enough for me. i just wanted to share so enjoy everyone. ..excuse my wheels, they're my winters.

..ill put up better pics & angles when i have time.

That is beautiful...get a good paint sealer and polish for the car and hood, it'll keep it looking nice.

..you mean she right? haha..

dang, i was hoping i wouldnt have to repaint the eyelids, but hey the carbon fiber wrap isnt a bad idea. i wonder if the 'lid will keep its shape after the resin is dry?? it wouldnt be as flexable right? hmmm...

JDMPassword?-i was actually looking at the Keyed aerocatch..i took it up to 80mph today and it looked ok, i didnt see any major "hopping" in the hoodthanks everyone for the positive replies!

Password:JDM makes a backing plate to be used in conjunction with the AeroCatch hood pins. When you look at the design of the AeroCatch system, you'll see just how much more secure your setup will be with the pwd:JDM add-ons. Here ye go...arrrrrrgh:

Password:JDM backing plates...

As for going 80 without pins...it can be done. When I first got my hood, I took it on the highway at about those speeds. Mine started wobbling like mad though...didn't do that again.
