Alright, so cancer has eaten away at my 240sx hatch, and its time to get a new one. I'm looking around online and I see that there are carbon fiber hatches available for $750, and I sit here and I ask myself (and you all) do you really think its worth it? I'm kinda on the fence on this one, and thought I'd ask for an opinion.

roughly for every 200 pounds you drop off a car you gain 17 hp or something like that. that is a very rough guessimate. is it worth it? no not really, there is plenty of other things to do to get your car on a diet, it would be more sensible to get a new hatch from a junkyard, now if your looking in to losing weight with the hatch, replace your heavy glass hatch with flex-a-lite which is a scratch resistant polymer window. also getting a lightweight battery, racing seats and steering wheel, etc will help, saveyour 750 dollars for something more worth it, cf hatches i think are more just for show

Ya know, thats pretty much what I figured as well. I mean it would be nice to have a CF hatch for the novelty (I'd just paint over it anyway), but if there is no REAL gain from that (which I figured it wasn't) then it seems a pick and pull is in my future.
