Certified Pre-Owned....Worth the Extra $$$?

Curious to hear what current owners of G35's think about Infiniti CPO cars, if they are worth the extra money over normal used cars. I'm considering an '06 G35 Sedan with sport package, 6 speed. What do you all think? Is it all a bunch of hooey or is it legit and worth it for extra time and mileage for warranty?

I won't buy a used unless it is CPO. In fact, I prefer CPO over brand new.

Essentially, the cost to certify the car is worth about $2k. Infiniti will NOT certify a car that has been in an accident, so that also gives you a piece of mind.

The downside to CPO is that it is limited to 6years or 100k miles from original purchase date (from first owner).

However, do not confuse CPO with extended warranty.

So in short, I highly recommend CPO, so long as the cost is within reason.

Being at a dealer I also say for the most part, its worth it. The list of things that have to be done to certify it make the car close to new. It gets a big list of maintenance and things. Wheras a straight up used car may need a few hundred dollars in maintenance, the Certified vehicle usually needs nothing but oil changes for the first year, as everything has been done on it already.

with the problems I've experienced and seen here with G's, I would at least get one that still qualifies for a Nissan backed extended warranty.

I did this on my 04 G coupe and have used it once for two items!

Would also check service history if available plus the usual stuff...
