I am just about to take my 2009 Murano SL in for it's first 3000 Mile check up/Oil change. When I take it in I am going to point out that 2 buttons have never lit up..so I was hoping someone could tell me if they should be lighting up. The Gas Tank Door button (Opens door so I can put gas in) does not light up at all and on the AWD Lock button only the AWD lights up in orange at night put the "LOCK" never lights up at all even when I press it down in bad weather to lock the AWD.

The fuel lock release button does not light up. I do not have AWD so I do not know about that button. I think it's been brought up on the forums before but maybe not in a thread all its own. I do know that Nissan carried that half lit button theme throughout the 09 MO. Only half of the power lock buttons are lit for example and then there's the window and the window lockout switch...

AWD lock does not light up either. An "AWD" will light up on your dash near the speedo. The AWD LOCK will automatically turn off once you hit I believe 25mph.

You cannot engage the AWD lock when driving; it will engage automatically when it detects slippage. If you want it on permanently, you need to press the AWD lock before you start driving.

It will automatically disengage when you drive over 80km/h.
